BY TRAIN: There are no direct trains from Mumbai to Hampi. So our best bet is to take a train to Hubbali Junction, from where you can hire a car (4.5 hours drive), take another train to Hosapete Junction (12 Kms from Hampi) or take a Bus. Even though there are many trains on this route, you will have to book your ticket well in advance. You can check the availability and book your train ticket online on the Indian Railways Website or other OTA Travel Sites.
Even though it is inconvenient to take a train to a distant station, most travellers prefer to take the train and then arrange for a car to pick them up from Hubli Station. We can certainly arrange a pickup for you from Hubli Station, get in touch via whatsapp or email.
BY BUS: Several private buses depart every day from Mumbai to Hampi. Typically it takes 12 -13 hours by road. You can check availability and book your buses online on private sites like Redbus or MakeMyTrip. Alternatively you can get any ticketing agent in Mumbai to help you with the booking.
BY PRIVATE CAR: You can also hire a private car with a driver to take you to Hampi from Mumbai. This is the most expensive option of all.
BY SELF DRIVE IN A CAR: This is an option of choice for many families and groups of friends travelling together. The total driving timing from Mumbai to Hampi is around 14 hours non stop. The roads are in excellent condition, but we highly recommend taking a overnight pitstop on the way at Vijayapura.
