On this Hampi Village Life Tour, we will embark on a journey of exploring & experiencing the local way of life in rural communities around the UNESCO world heritage site. There are around 29 village settlements within the protected core zone and people living in these communities are an essential part of the cultural heritage of Hampi. The traditions, festivals, social life of people here is deeply intertwined with their shared heritage and the landscape. This is why Hampi is often referred to as a living heritage site. On this tour we will immerse ourselves in lives of people from these communities, understand how they contribute to the richness of the cultural heritage of this site. 

This tour is all about immersing yourself into the local culture and learning about life in villages of India. We promise to make this fun, engaging and educational experience for you!

These are the services/activities that are not part of the tour by default.  Please go through the options below and see if you'd like avail any of them.  While you submit enquiry you can choose the relevant options. 

Transportation Options

By default we haven't included transportation in this tour. This is because we want to give travellers the flexibility to use their own transportation. For those of you who want us to arrange transportation you can choose one of the following during your booking process and we will send your a quote for local transportation as well. 

  • A/C Sedan Car with capacity for 3 persons (Plus driver & Guide)
  • A/C SUV Car with capacity of 5 persons (plus driver & Guide) 
  • A/C Traveller with capacity for 9 persons (plus driver & Guide)

  • Some light refreshments like coconut water is included 
  • An expert english speaking guide 
  • Transportation - During the Tour in Auto rickshaw. 
  • Home cooked Lunch - At our hosts home in village
  • Bullock Cart ride through the countryside with farmer
  • Bananas, Rice and Jaggery as donation for the local trust and temple from your behalf
  • Visit to Handicraft center & Professional fee for artisans time

EXCLUSION

  • Pickup and Drop from your Hotel is not included by default. If you need assistance then choose optional add-on for the same.

THINGS TO REMEMBER

  • Wear comfortable cotton clothes. Wear clothing that would cover your chest and shoulders. Wear bottoms that would cover up to your knees.
  • A cap or an umbrella to keep the sun out.

Frequently asked Questions

Our tour lead will coordinate with you and your driver the day before the tour by phone and email. In case you are hiring an auto rickshaw (tuk-tuk), you can have the driver talk to our tour leader (we will send his/her number to you) over phone and they’ll co-ordinate the location. 

Start Point – Chariot Point, Anegundi Village: This is a popular landmark in Anegundi village, which is located on the northern bank of Tungabhadra river. It is located 10 Kms from Hippie Island, 24 Kms from Hampi, 20 Kms from Kamalapur, 32 Kms from Hospete.

If you have a self drive car or a chauffeur driven car then you can use it to arrive at the start point and then safely park it. Our tour lead will coordinate with you over phone and guide on the day.
